View password of Connected WiFi in Window.

Sometimes you forget your WiFi password which you have entered in your mac. And you want to share your WiFi but that time you need to know the password. You can see your password in computer of your connected WiFi. Follow this guide to find connected WiFi password.

Note that following procedure is same for window 7, 8, 10.  To view password of your window machine, you need to make sure that you have previously connected to the WiFi network or you are already connected to to the WiFi network. Then, Follow this guide to view password in window.



Step 1 :- Open your control panel by searching Control panel in search bar and select View Network status or tasks and  or right click on WiFi icon and select Open Network and Sharing Center.

      

Step 2:-   Select Change Adopter setting at right side.

       

Step 3:- Right click on WiFi icon and Select status. You will see following pop up window. Select the Wireless Properties.

     

Step 4:-  On clicking the Wireless Properties, will appear Wireless Properties dialog box. Select the security tab. 

     

In this dialog Box, you will see a text field named as Network security key.  Under the text field of Network security key there is check box named as Show characters. Go a head and check the show characters.  Now, your connected WiFi password is visible.

Note that it is method of view password of your connected WiFi but if you want to see your password of previously connected WiFi. Follow the following guide.

Step 1 :- To view the previous connected WiFi , open your control panel by searching Control panel in search bar and select View Network status or tasks and  or right click on WiFi icon and select Open Network and Sharing Center. 

Step 2:-  Now click on Manage Wireless Network on right side of window .

Step 3:- You will see a list of previously connected WiFi. Just double click on that WiFi , you want to view password.

Step 4:-  After double click on WiFi you will see a dialog box. Select the Security tab. 

Step 5:- In this dialog Box, There is  a text field named as Network security key.  Under the text field of Network security key there is check box named as Show characters. Go a head and check the show characters.  Now, you are able to see your that WiFi password.

View password of connected WiFi using command.

In window, Open command prompt by searching  CMD  in search bar and type following command in command prompt.

netsh wlan show profiles

This command return wireless profiles list under User Profiles.   In the right side of the screen, name of WiFi network is listed. Now view the password of a profile, type following command.

ou’ll find all the wireless profiles listed under User Profiles. The name of the WiFi network is on the right. In my case, I only have one WiFi network listed. Now to see the password for a profile, type in the following command.

netsh wlan show profile name=profilename key=clear

View password of Connected WiFi in Ubuntu.

Step 1:- Select the connection icon which is top right on the screen.
Step 2:- After click the WiFi connection icon, drop down will appear & at the bottom of drop down there is option Edit Connections. Select Edit Connections.
Step 3:-  After click the Edit connections, list of connected WiFi are visible. Double click on your WiFi connection.
      

Step 4:-  After double click on your WiFi, a new window will be visible. Go to WiFi-security tab.
      

Step 5:-  Click on Show password, password will be visible in box, next to password text.

View password of Connected WiFi in Mac.

Step 1:-  At top-right menu bar click search icon and search keychain into spotlight.

     

Step 2:- In the left sidebar, click on Passwords, and in the right sidebar, you will see list of wifi connected before. Double click WiFi which password you want to see.

     

Step 3:- Click on Show password. A confirm box of administrator will be display. Enter your administrator username and password. It’s require because of security issue.

     

Step 4:- It may be possible to prompted confirm box again.
Step 5:- The WiFi password will be appear in the box after text Show Password.
